Smithers Lake is a small man-made lake located in Harris County, Texas, United States. It covers an area of 23 acres and has a maximum depth of 22 feet. The lake was created in 1940 as a part of the Rice University Ranch and was later acquired by Harris County in 1975.
The lake provides recreational opportunities such as fishing, boating, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. The lake is stocked with catfish, bass, and other fish regularly by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The lake also has a pier and a boat ramp for public access.
Smithers Lake is surrounded by a park which includes hiking trails, picnic tables, and a playground. The park is maintained by the Harris County Precinct 4 Parks Department.
Smithers Lake is located near the town of Tomball, Texas which is 28 miles northwest of Houston. It is easily accessible from State Highway 249 and FM 2920.
